AI RESEARCH SCHOOL
November 19 2023 - March 23 2024
About AIRS
The AI Research School (AIRS) is an online program that aims to encourage equity deserving groups to participate in AI research. This year, the program has three phases. In phase one, students with limited background in coding will learn the basics of python. From variables to OOP, students with no experience will be able to hit the ground running when they reach phase two! In phase two, students have the opportunity to (1) gain hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning research, (2) interact with current highly successful graduate students and postdocs from underrepresented groups who utilize AI for their research, (3) gain mentorship from academia and industry researchers, and (4) plan for or develop a strong application for graduate school. In phase three, students have the option to participate in an AI research project alongside mentors to get some first-hand research experience.
Students have the option to register for all phases or just phase one. If you have python experience, it is recommended that you register only for phase two and onwards, as phase one is designed for python beginners.
Certificates of completion will be awarded for each phase of the program.

Please register here if you are interested in participating!
Phase 1:
Introduction to Python Programming
Program Details
This phase is designed for students with little or no coding experience. It introduces Python, covering key topics such as variables, data structures, functions, and object-oriented programming (OOP). By the end of Phase 1, students will have the confidence to apply these skills in more advanced AI studies.
