About AIRS
The AI Research School (AIRS) is an online program that aims to encourage equity deserving groups to participate in AI research. The program has two phases. In phase one, students have the opportunity to (1) gain hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning research, (2) interact with current highly successful graduate students and postdocs from underrepresented groups who utilize AI for their research, (3) gain mentorship from academia and industry researchers, and (4) plan for or develop a strong application for graduate school. In phase two, students have the option to participate in an AI research project alongside mentors to get some first-hand research experience.

Students have the option to register for both phases or just phase one. Certificates of completion will be awarded for each phase of the program.

Phase 1:
Foundations of AI and Research Preparation
Program Details
Phase 1 of the AI Research School (AIRS) focuses on providing students with hands-on experience in machine learning and deep learning, while offering mentorship from successful graduate students and researchers from underrepresented groups. Students also receive guidance on preparing strong graduate school applications. This phase is designed to help participants build foundational AI skills and gain valuable insights into academic and industry research.

Phase 2:
AI Research Project Experience
Phase 2 of the AI Research School (AIRS) offers students the chance to participate in AI research projects under the guidance of mentors from academia and industry. This phase provides valuable first-hand experience in conducting research, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while deepening their skills in AI.
